Child Coquelusedal suppositories are used as an adjunct treatment for mild acute bronchial conditions in children over 30 months to 15 years of age.

The duration of treatment is limited to 3 days.

Never use COQUELUSEDAL, suppository in the following cases:

  • Allergy to one of the constituents.
  • Children under 30 months old.
  • Children with a history of epilepsy or febrile seizures.
  • Children with a recent history of ano-rectal lesion.


Special warnings

This specialty contains niaouli, which can lead to neurological accidents in both infants and children in excessive doses.

  • Do not extend the treatment time beyond 3 days due to:
    • the risk of build-up of the terpenic derivative (niaouli) in the body including the brain, and in particular the risk of neurological disorders,
    • the risk of burn-like irritation in the rectum.
  • Do not exceed recommended doses due to an increased risk of side effects and overdose-related disorders.
  • Because terpenic derivatives are flammable, do not approach this specialty with a flame.

If fever, oily or purulent sputum, or chronic bowel and lung disease occur, seek medical advice from your doctor.

Respect the dosage and duration of use mentioned in this notice.

Interactions with other drugs

Do not use at the same time as other products (drugs or cosmetics) containing terpenic derivatives (e.g. camphor, cineole, niaouli, wild thyme, terpine, terpine, citral, menthol and essential oils of pine needles, eucalyptus and turpentine) regardless of the route of administration (oral, rectal, skin or lung).

Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken another medication, even if it is an over-the-counter medication.

  • Interactions with food and beverages: No purpose.
  • Interactions with herbal products or alternative therapies: No object.
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Do not use this medication during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Dosage

  • Only for children over 30 months to 15 years old.
  • 1 to 2 suppositories per day.

How to administer: Rectal pathway.

The choice of rectal pathway is determined only by the convenience of administering the drug.

  • Frequency of administration: 1 to 2 suppositories per day.
  • Treatment time: The duration of treatment is limited to 3 days.
  • Rectal pathway use should be as short as possible, due to the risk of local toxicity.

Symptoms and instructions for overdose

If you have used more COQUELUSEDAL, suppository than you should:

Due to the presence of niaouli and if the recommended doses are not followed: risk of convulsions in children and infants.
