Golden Eye Chloramphenicol Eye Ointment can be used to treat bacterial conjunctivitis thanks to the active ingredient chloramphenicol, a broad-spectrum antibiotic. A collection of pus in the inner corner of the eye or that causes difficulty in opening the eyelids after waking is the usual sign of bacterial conjunctivitis. It will normally affect both eyes which will be seen as the white of the eye turning pink or red and the eyelids may be red and swollen. The affected eye often has symptoms of feeling gritty or irritated without intense pain.
